A performance of Homer's Odyssey in ancient Greek and English; and inspirations.
I have previously extolled the importance of "modernizing" Homer, not through changes to the text, but rather through access to recitations. Hearing these stories is an entirely different experience to reading them, and A P Davis has a wonderful ear for rhythm and accentuation.
occult research, dark folkloric investigations, compiled strangeness
The author of this blog and I share many interests: history, folklore, literature, arcane knowledge, and the like. Where I focus on the classical side of things, though, he is a medievalist through and through. Even when we have skated by each other on similar topics, it has been a treat to receive his unique perspective on the matter in his excellent prose.
